Importing an ingredient is not difficult so much as it is relentless. Freight booking, documentation, customs entry, duty classification, food safety compliance on entry, port scheduling, demurrage exposure, transfer to storage — and every one of those steps has a failure mode that ends with product sitting somewhere it is not useful to you.
Manufacturers who buy direct from an origin processor own all of that. Manufacturers who buy from us do not. The product arrives at a regional warehouse as a domestic delivery, and everything upstream of that is our problem.
That is a plainer benefit than it sounds. It converts an international supply chain, with international risk, into a domestic one.

How it works

1

We book and manage freight across the modes each ingredient requires.

2

We handle documentation and customs entry, including classification and duty.

3

We manage food safety compliance on entry — the requirements, the filings, and the inspections.

4

We absorb the timing risk. Port delays, container shortages, and scheduling problems land on our planning, not your production schedule, because the inventory buffer sits between them and you.

5

Product moves into regional warehousing, at which point your order is a domestic shipment.

What it means for you

What makes ours different

Origin-country processors selling export capacity are genuinely good at making product. What they are selling you, though, is an export transaction — and the complexity of receiving it stays with you. We are the domestic-speed front end to global supply: the same reach, without the import operation attached.

The objection
"Wouldn't buying direct from the processor be cheaper?"
On the unit price, often yes. On the landed cost, frequently not — and landed cost is the number that hits your P&L. Freight, duty, customs brokerage, demurrage risk, the safety stock you have to carry against an ocean lead time, and the cost of a line-down day when a container is late all belong in that comparison.

We built a calculator for exactly this, and it does not always come out in our favour. Use it anyway. A buyer who has run the real comparison is a better customer than one who has not.
