There are two ways to buy a fruit ingredient. You can find a source yourself, qualify it, negotiate it, manage it, and carry the risk when it fails. Or you can buy through a network that already did all of that, across many sources, over four decades.

The second way costs a margin. The first way costs a procurement team, a travel budget, a quality function, and a tolerance for the season when your one source has a bad year. Most manufacturers, once they price both honestly, prefer the second.
What you are actually buying is access. Our team carries more than a hundred years of combined experience in the global fruit trade, and the practical value of that shows up in a specific moment: when a crop comes in short and everyone in the market is calling the same processors. In that week, the difference between a supplier and a source is whether the call gets returned. Ours do.

How it works

1

We find candidate sources through a network built over forty years — growers, processors, freight, cold storage, certifiers. Most of the useful ones are never listed anywhere.

2

We qualify them in person. A quality manager goes to the facility before we buy anything. This is not negotiable and it is covered in detail on the Quality Assurance page.

3

We negotiate and secure supply, including forward positions when a market signals tightness.

4

We hold more than one qualified source per ingredient, deliberately, so that no single relationship is load-bearing.

5

We invest where it strengthens the partnership — sometimes in an operation’s equipment or process — because a source that can hold our specification is worth more than a cheaper one that cannot.

6

You buy from us and inherit all of it. One vendor number, one quality standard, one call.

What it means for you

What makes ours different

Every major competitor in this category leads with a single-origin story — their own orchards, their own region, their own heritage. It is genuinely appealing and it has one structural flaw: it is a single point of failure with a nice photograph attached. A supplier who grows it themselves cannot source around their own bad season, because their supply chain is their farm.

We are built the opposite way. We are not attached to any one place, which means we can move when a season turns without asking you to reformulate or wait.

The objection
"Aren't you just a markup between me and the processor?"
It is the fair question, so here is the straight answer. Yes, we take a margin. What it buys you is a quality manager’s travel to facilities you will never visit, more than one qualified source for every ingredient so a bad season is absorbed rather than passed on, inventory already sitting near your plant instead of on a ship, import and compliance handled, and a relationship network that returns calls in a market where that decides allocation.
If you have the team, the travel budget, and the appetite to carry supply risk yourself, buying direct is a legitimate choice and we will say so. Most of our customers have run that comparison and concluded that the margin is cheaper than the alternative. The honest test is a total-cost comparison, not a unit price one — and we will help you build it even if it does not go our way.
